Martine operates alone her 7.5-acres vineyard. The different parcels are located in the small town of Cravant les Coteaux, Chinon and Beaumont enVéron, including 7.5-acres within the Clos “La Niverdière”.
The vines of Cravant les Coteaux are planted on 2 types of soil:
• The “Sablons de la Vienne”; the famous gravel and mixed sands of the “Granges” and the “Maisons Bourdeaux”
• The low slopes, clay-limestone at a place called “Rustauderies”
The vines of Chinon and Beaumont-en-Véron are on the same type of soils known as “Sweet lands”, a mixture of limestone sands and limestone colluvium.
Rewrite her own story on a historic site, mark the glorious vineyard with her own stamp, to leave her own mark in this field of predominantly man…
Like the Phoenix, Martine is embarking on a second life and appropriating a place steeped in history. She bounces back despite the pitfalls of life and sets out on a new path.
The Renaissance is an integral part of the history of Chinon and its location. At the same time, this “Renaissance” echoes Martine’s personal story.
