La Niverdière is a collection of 7.5 hectares with various terroirs in the AOC Chinon.
4.5 hectares of Cabernet Franc are located in the municipalities of Cravant-les-Coteaux and Chinon, 3 hectares are within the Clos “La Niverdière” in Beaumont-en-Véron.
The vines in Cravant-les-Coteaux are planted in two types of soil:
1. The “Sablons de la Vienne”: the famous gravels and alluviums of “Granges” and “Maisons Bourdeaux.”
2. The lower slopes, clay-limestone, in the area known as “Rustauderies” on the heights of Cravant.
The vines in Chinon and Beaumont-en-Véron are on the same type of soil called “Terres douces,” a blend of limestone sands and limestone colluviums.
To rewrite her own story on a historic site, to leave her mark on the illustrious vineyard,
and to leave her own imprint as well…
Like the Phoenix, Martine begins a second life and makes this place steeped in history her own.
She bounces back despite life’s obstacles and embarks on a new path.
The Renaissance is an integral part of the history of Chinon and its location. Simultaneously, this “Renaissance” echoes Martine’s personal history. She guides her vineyard with a gentle yet firm hand, caring for her vines as she does for her own children. For her, nothing surpasses the respect for the terroir and the maintenance of soil life balance.
